“Round 6 of the British 200mm Nationals were held on the 27th / 28th August at the excellent Stonehaven circuit up in Scotland. Saturdays practice was held under dry conditions despite the forecast being for rain. Traction was ok to start off with and it wasn’t long before all cars were up to racing pace. Due to the nature of the Stonehaven track, tyre wear is really high so many drivers worked on trying to reduce this for Sunday’s finals. We were just talking about these new LiPo packs from Traxxas and wouldn’t you know it, one arrived today. Our first pack is a 3-cell 6400mAh soft sided pack (part no. 2857). Traxxas used a 3s2p configuration to reach 11.1V and 6400mAh capacity, so it is actually six cells in total. Three cells are wired together in series to achieve 11.1 volts and 3200mAh capacity. Those three cells are wired in parallel two an identical setup for a total of 6400mAh. The continuous discharge is 160 amps or 25C. The maximum burst rate is 50C or 320 amps. Kervola wins Rd2 of Finnish EP Offroad Nats
The weekend of the 21st August saw the 2nd round of the Finnish Championships series being held at Kiiminki. Team Durango DEX410 buggies took the overall TQ spot with Janne Aspinen leading the charge closely followed by fellow Team Durango racer Harri Kervola in 2nd. The A-Main was taken by Harri Kervola as he took the opening and 3rd leg to claim the overall victory.
