Drake clean sweep at JBRL Rd7
The seventh round of the JBRL series took place last weekend at Revelation Raceway. In the 1/8th expert truck class Team Losi Racing / Novarossi’s Adam Drake took TQ honors with his Novarossi powered TLR 8ight T 2.0. The beginning of the 25 minute final was a great battle between Adam Drake and Cody King. King had mechanical problems 10 minutes into the race and was forced to retire. This opened the door for Castellano to move up to second. Drake took the victory followed by teammates Castellano in second and Schreffler in third. Matt Chambers takes Expert Buggy at RC Pro Rd17
TLR’s Matt Chambers was on hand for round #17 of the RC Pro National Series. Dirtworks R/C in Burlington, CO played host to the event that brought in racers from many surrounding states. In the Expert 1/8 Buggy class Matt was in top form taking the TQ in all 4 rounds of qualifying and cruising to a 2 lap victory in the 45 minute A-main ahead of TLR privateer Chris Peralta and Vincent Ringler. Mibo Sport Cup – Announcement
Mibo Sport with support from Yokomo, have announced their new winter race series. The series will take place in the Czech Republic, in the popular city of Hrotovice, where previously the ETS and European Indoor Championships have been held. This season Hrotovice is proud to host the EOS as well. The event will take place indoors, in a hall that has enough space for 2 separate tracks, on-road and off-road. Team C T8TE brushless truggy
Team C have released pictures of their new brushless truggy, the T8TE. Its twin battery pack design chassis sees a pack mounted to the rear of the chassis and to each side of the centre driveshaft giving excellent balance. Other features include a 3mm T6 7075 chassis, 5mm front & rear shock towers, CVD shaft system and high downforce rear wing and cab forward body. Expect an early November release. Hellquist & Andersson win 2011 Swedish Cup
The Swedish cup consists of 6 races with the best 3 results counting plus the result from the final race. Since it was 60 points for a win in the final race instead of the normal 50 at the previous races it was an open affair for many of the top drivers. Billy Easton wins Summer Novarossi challenge
The Summer Novarossi challenge took place this weekend at the Ospy Team track in Italy. Traveling over from the US for the race Billy Easton and the Serpent team set the pace in the qualifying with the S811 Cobra and would TQ the event in front of Mirko Bianchi with current European Champion Robert Batlle in 3rd. Kyle Branson wins Rd8 takes British 1/8th title
The 8th Round of the Championship was hosted by the Cotswold Club situated within the Cotswold airport complex. The weather forecast was for a wet Saturday and a dry Sunday, but this tuned out to be the opposite which had all the drivers frantically adding wet setups to their cars and changing to damp tires. Every driver decided a banker time was required since due to the open nature of the track surroundings and no wind would result in the track taking a long time to dry out, if at all. Kyosho Japan have released information on their upcoming Plazma Ra 1/12 scale pan car chassis. Named after the iconic line of Plazma on-road chassis’, the new addition that will hit the stores at the end of December 2011 is a rather conventional affair designed around the common 1S LiPo battery with rear link suspension, side damper tubes and is made for standard US-type wheels. Bruno Heremans wins Benelux Offroad Championships
The combined Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg Championship Series concluded last weekend with a surprise win by Bruno Heremans and his X-6 Squared. Coming into the last race at Vlijmen, Netherlands, X Factory’s Stefan Mesker held a one point lead over Elvo after six races in the seven race series, with best five to count. Heremans and X-Teamer Stefan Mesker were the only two drivers in with a chance for the title. The grass track deteriorated slowly through the day, becoming rougher, and many drivers found themselves on their lids unexpectedly. FTW Losi Ten-SCTE carbon upgrade kits
FTW Racing Components launched its line of carbon fibre racing components by introducing three upgrade kits for the Losi’s popular Ten-SCTE 4WD short course platform, a cooling fan kit, a shock tower kit and an Ackerman rack kit.
