Vesa Yli is 2012 Finnish champion

Vesa Yli has claimed the Finnish National 1/12th scale title after last weekend’s fourth round nationals. The current Nordic Champion dominated the first 2 rounds of the nationals by taking TQ and the win in both rounds and finished 3rd in the following round before the season ending race. This meant that Vesa kept the top spot in the championship battle from the first race thru the season, just like Janne Valtanen did in the 10.5t blinky spec class, both driving V-Dezign Carpet Ripper V. Heremans wins Benelux Championships Rd2

The second round of the Benelux Championship was at Kampanhout Belgium last weekend where Bruno ‘Elvo’ Heremans won in convincing style with his X-6 Squared with X-Factory cars occupying the top four spots on the grid. Ride soft matched TC springs

Ride have announced the release of their new soft range of touring car pro matched springs. Compared to the previously available matched springs from Ride, these are closer to the silver springs. They come in 4 steps, hard to soft, blue, green, yellow and white and are made of the same 1.5mm wire diameter and the same overall dimensions as the red but the coil increases by a 0.25 incremental step with 6.75 for blue to 7.5 for white. Neumann pulls off clean sweep in 4WD Buggy

As predicted following the trouncing of his rivals in yesterday’s 4WD Buggy qualifying, Joern Neumann has won 4WD buggy at the finale of the inaugural Euro Offroad Series completing a clean sweep of the championship with three TQ starts and three wins from the three races.  Starting the German event from pole, Neumann was in a completely different league winning the first A-Main from Team Losi Racing’s Mike Truhe by a massive 16-seconds and Leg 2 by 11-seconds from Team Yokomo’s Yannic Prumper. Martin & Honigl complete 4WD Buggy Podium

Lee Martin and Hupo Honigl completed the podium in 4WD Buggy at the finale of the Euro Offroad Series in Germany, the same order the drivers would finish in the overall standings of the TLR/Spektrum sponsored championship.  With Neumann sitting out the third & final leg of the A-Main having completed a clean sweep of overall wins in the class by dominating the earlier legs, it was Martin who took the early lead of the closing 5-minute encounter ahead of Honigl but swapping the lead twice in the end it was the latter who took the win. Neumann takes Leg 2

After a messy performance in the opening 2WD A-Main at the EOS finale, Joern Neumann got the job done in Leg 2 but it was another far from perfect run by the German who again allowed Leg 1 winner Marc Rheinard by after a mistake of his own doing on lap 4.  The champion elect managed to retake his fellow countryman 7 laps later when the lead Tamiya got out of shape coming onto to main straight and the pair touched.  Unfortunately for Rheinard his buggy got beached on the track barrier losing him 2 seconds and allowing Team Losi Racing’s Dustin Evans through to finish second…

The organizers of the 2012 IFMAR 1/8th scale offroad World championship have gotten in touch with us, finally breaking their silence on the event to confirm the location and the running of a warmup race for the event. The event itself will be run on an all new track is located on Highway Richieri in Club Aeromodelista Jorge Newbery, 7 minutes from Ezeiza Interncional Aiport and 15 minutes from downtown Buenos Aires (Capital Federal). TQ puts Neumann on target for EOS 2WD title

Joern Neumann is Top Qualifier for tomorrow’s title deciding A-Main after the Team Durango ace set a new fastest time in the final round of 2WD Buggy Qualifying at the TLR/Spektrum Euro Offroad Series finale in Dortmund, Germany.  A major boost for the championship protagonist, whose two title rivals will start the deciding race from the middle of the grid, the German claimed pole position on tie break with Marc Rheinard and Darren Bloomfield thanks to his Q4 time which was just .065 shy of being the only 16 lap run of the event. Bloomfield tops opening Qualifier in Dortmund

Darren Bloomfield has topped the opening round of 2WD Buggy qualifying at the TLR/Spektrum Euro Offroad Series presented by Horizon Hobby.  The Team Losi Racing driver took his Team Orion powered 22 to a fastest time of 15 laps in 5:09.191 to take the first of the four scheduled qualifiers ahead of the three title protagonists, Joern Neumann, Dustin Evans and Lee Martin who took the next three positions on the time sheets at the Dortmund event. 2012 JConcepts Spring Indoor Nationals report

Round 2 of the 2012 JConcepts Indoor National Series took place at Mike’s Hobby Shop in Carrolton, TX on April 14-15. There was a great turnout for this event with just over 200 entries. JConcepts was well represented with Team Drivers Steven Hartson, Kody Numedahl, Taylor Larson and Cody Hollis in attendance. CJ Weaver wins Canadian Off-Road Shootout

This past weekend the 6th Annual Canadian Off-Road Shootout took place in Ontario, Canada. The three-day event gathered racers from across Canada and the United States. The 259 entries consisted of 90 nitro buggies, 48 nitro trucks, 77 E-Scales, and 44 short course trucks. The nitro buggy class was definitely the most competitive and anticipated race of the weekend.
