Keven Hébert provided the following report: “Rapid Competition Raceway in Grand Rapids, Michigan was the site of the second leg of the 2011/2012 Midwest Grand Slam Series. A slightly different race format than the previous round meant that the entire program would run on Saturday and Sunday. Practice early Saturday morning was followed by three rounds of qualifying. A final round of qualifying and the main events were scheduled for Sunday. Some of the best names from the Midwest were in attendance in both TC and 1/12. For the sixth year in a row, JConcepts has put on The Clash, Florida’s premier event. Having been hosted at multiple venues across the “Sunshine State” in the past, the 2011 location next moved to the southern tip of the state to Coral Springs, near the tourist destinations of Ft. Lauderdale and Miami. Thunder Alley RC Raceway 2012 Race Dates
The GRRS is in its 3rd year and with the great sucess of last years average attendance of 160 entries per event we have made some tweaks to please our racers and make the race days more enjoyable. Saturday dates will be ran with only the Short Course Trucks & buggys racing. Sundays will be the Nitro classes & 1/8 E-Buggy racing . Doing this will shorten up each race day and allow for some added skill levels & classes on both days. X-7 Prototype 3rd at JConcepts Clash
Paul Sinclair drove the new Gen 5.2 prototype of the X Factory X – 7 4WD car to third place in a very competitive field at the J Concepts Clash. Paul had no practice at all with the new car before the first round of qualifying, and rain shortened the race to just two qualifiers and the main, so this result is quite good indeed for the new car. “Olly Jefferies takes TQ and the A final win at round three of this years BRCA national series.Round 3 of this seasons BRCA 1:12 national championship saw another strong showing by the Associated team with Olly Jefferies taking the win and TQ on Saturday in the Spec class. Olly followed this up with another TQ on Sunday but after a first lap mistake could only manage 2nd place in Modified on Sunday.
