Jared Tebo repeated his turn around Q3 topping performance to take the final 2WD Buggy qualifier to become Top Qualifier of the 26th edition of the Pro-Line Cactus Classic. Ryan Cavalieri is Top Qualifier for Mod Truck at the Pro-Line Cactus Classic, the defending champion wrapping up pole position for tomorrow’s A-Main with a third TQ run in the fourth & final round of qualifying at the Hobby Town Scottsdale R/C Speedway. The penultimate round of qualifying in the 4WD classes saw Ryan Cavalieri TQ Buggy while Dakotah Phend set the pace in Short Course. Taking the TQ for the opening round, Cavalieri topped the timing for a second time when he used his Pro-Line shod B44.1 to outpace the Durango of Travis Amezcua by 5 seconds with the Kyosho of Jared Tebo taking third. Having failed to make the Top 10 in either of yesterday’s 2WD Buggy Qualifiers Kyosho’s Jared Tebo bounced back today at the Pro-Line Cactus Classic to TQ Q3 and put himself right into contention for Top Qualifier honours at the Arizona event. Reigning US National Champion Dustin Evans has TQ’d the second round of 2WD Buggy qualifying for the Pro-Line Cactus Classic, the TLR driver driver setting a new overall fastest time for the largest of the classes at the 26th edition of the America’s longest running offroad event. The second round of qualifying for the 2WD truck classes at the Pro-Line Cactus Classic saw Associated set the pace with Cavalieri and Maifield topping Mod Truck and 2WD Short Course respectively. Having dominated the morning’s opening qualifier, Maifield was unable to repeat his morning 13-lap run, taking third for the round behind defending champion Cavalieri and TLR’s Dustin Evans both of whom knocked 4 seconds off their 12-lap Q1 runs. Ryan Cavalieri has TQ’d the opening round of qualifying for both Buggy classes at the 26th running of the Pro-Line Cactus Classic. In 2WD the World Champion narrowly outpaced team-mate and dominator of the morning’s truck qualifying Ryan Maifield while in 4WD he had a decent advantage at the top of the time sheets over reigning US National Champion Jared Tebo. Lutz, Rodriguez & Castellano bump to Main event

While the Buggy B-Main was full of action with battles a plenty for the lower positions, up front Ryan Lutz made light work of the opposition. Starting from pole, the Team Durango driver took a very easy win over 18-year-old A-Main Hobbies team driver Dylan Rodriguez and TLR’s Matt Castellano with the Top 3 progressing to the Main event at the Fear Farm.  After a difficult run in Friday’s qualifying, Lutz said switching to a larger holed piston in the rear shocks for the half hour final cured his Alpha powered DNX408 from bucking. Dirt Nitro Challenge debutant Dakota Phend TQ’d the final round of qualifying to secure second on the grid for Sunday’s main buggy event behind Top Qualifier Ty Tessmann who opted to sit out Q3. The TLR young gun outpaced Associated’s Ryan Cavalieri by 3.4 seconds with Tessmann’s Hot Bodies team-mate Jessie Robbers completing the Top 3. In a repeat of his yesterday’s Truggy qualifying Hot Bodies’ Ty Tessmann has TQ’d the opening round of Buggy qualifying at the Dirt Nitro Challenge at the Fear Farm in Phoenix, Arizona.  The Canadian set a pace of 11 laps in 7:33.947 to top the first of three rounds by one & a half seconds over TLR’s Adam Drake and World Champion Cody King. Team Associated’s Ryan Maifield is the Truggy Top Qualifier at the Dirt Nitro Challenge backing up his Q2 performance with another TQ run in Q3 to claim pole position for Saturday’s 1-hour final.  The final qualifier saw the US Champion set the pace from team-mate Ryan Cavalieri with TLR’s Adam Drake third.
