JConcepts Finnisher for MBX-6R
JConcepts have announced the release of their Finnisher body for the Mugen MBX-6R. Increased windshield angle provides a steady force upfront during mid-flight wind gusts on large jumps. Forward cab placement changes performance / visible bias which helps steering rotation in low traction corners. The side-pods have a strong and chiseled look, including a recessed area in the rear which allows another option for air-escape. Short Course Kings Series Rd4 report
The Short Course Kings Series rolled into Ocala, FL for its 4th and final round of the 2012 season. NewRed Hobbies was the host track for this event with 104 entries geared up to do battle and crown the Kings of Short Course. Pro 2 stock qualifying was dominated by Shea Peterson setting the TQ in the first round and backing it up by winning the second round to secure the overall TQ. JConcepts will keep the racing going this summer in Florida with the announcement of the Summer Tour. These 3 standalone events will kick off on June 2nd at FZRC in Sarasota, Florida before a July 7th stop at eXtreme Hobby Zone in Winter Haven, FL and ending on July 28th at Shiverville in High Springs, FL. Frank Root wins 2wd Mod at JBRL Rd3
TLR and JConcepts driver’s Frank Root was on hand at the 3rd round of the 2012 JBRL Saturday at Rainman’s Hobby Shop & Raceway in Bakersfield, CA. The track had fantastic traction and a very fast layout. The entry count was very strong at 235, especially strong for the Bakersfield Round of the series which is traditionally the smallest. Jörn Neumann wins German Nats West Rd1
The 1st qualification (West) for the German Nationals 8th Buggy were held in Oberhausen last weekend. On Saturday it rained all day, so the organizers cancelled the day. Luckily it stopped raining during the night and racing was possible on Sunday. The schedule was 2 Rounds of qualifying and then finals. Jörn Neumann finished 2nd in Round 1 and TQ’ed Round 2. JConcepts OC/RC Stock Nationals OCRC located in Huntington Beach California was the location for the Stock Nationals, presented by JConcepts. OCRC came up with the idea for a stock only race format. Every class was a 17.5, non timing, with the exception of a late addition of 4Wheel buggy, that included timing. With a stock friendly layout, meaning no huge jumps, but plenty of technical sections, it was going to be up to the drivers, and not luck, to determine a winner. Once again JConcepts hit the road to Coral Springs for the JConcepts Super Cup Championship Series race #4. Friday practice at CSRCCC had threatening skies looming overhead with a thirty percent chance of rain for race day, Saturday afternoon. JConcepts has made the trip out to the 2012 NRSHA hobby show in Las Vegas, NV. This is our 2nd time at this show and we’ve had a great experience meeting new and existing dealers. This is a face to face opportunity for manufacturers to get together and take a snippet of product along to display in a table top environment. This year OC/RC Raceway played host to the 1st Annual Stock Nationals in Huntington Beach, California. With four rounds of qualifying on Saturday using qual points and two out of four rounds counting, an emphasis was placed on consistency. On Sunday, the event continued with the running of the lower main events with the top two drivers bumping up to the next highest main event. The Sportsman classes would use a triple A-Main format, while the expert classes were one single 10-minute main. JConcepts team driver Jörn Neumann kicked off Germany’s outdoor racing season with a win at the 7th annual Rhein-Main International Warm up. With 210 entries, it is one of the biggest 8th scale races in Germany. Jörn ran in the 1/8 Buggy and 1/8 eBuggy classes. Practice went really well with Jörn trying different tire compounds switching between Green and Blue. In the morning, Jörn used green Hybrids on his Nitro Buggy and green Double Dees V2 on his Electric Buggy. In the afternoon he switched to the blue compound due to the outside temperatures.
