LiPo – Powered Starter Box [Top 25 Pit Tips]
May 10, 2012 Categories: RC Car Action, RC News Comment
LiPo-Powered Starter Box: If you’re looking for a little extra engine-cranking power, replace the NiMH batteries in your starter box with high-capacity LiPo batteries. You’ll need to invest in a LiPo charger to charge the batteries, but it is well worth the cost because the batteries provide more voltage, and they do not discharge when not in use. Just remember to disconnect the batteries before storing the starter box. Larry Demarco – Chicago, IL RC Car Action –

Track-Made Bind Clip: If you use your Spektrum receiver with multiple radios, chances are that you’ll bind it often. If you forget to bring the bind clip with you to the track, you may be done for the day, or you can easily make one from an old servo lead or servo extension. Simply separate the three wires, cut the middle wire, and connect the negative and neutral wires together. It might not look good, but it works when you’re in a bind. Scott McMillan RC Car Action –

Secret Spektrum [Top 25 Pit Tips]
May 4, 2012 Categories: RC Car Action, RC News Comment
Secret Spektrum: The Spektrum receiver’s shorty antenna wire is still long enough to require a hole in most bodies, but you can eliminate the need for a hole and fit it under the shell by bending the antenna tube. Heat the tube with a lighter or head gun until it softens, make the bend and then let it cool. The hole won’t kink, so the antenna can still pass through easily.
