Avid announce the release of the precision springs for 1/10th scale buggies and trucks. First seen at the recent Cactus Classic race the springs are designed for the use with big bore shock absorbers such as the ones from TLR, Kyosho, Team Durango as well as converted Team Associated units. Serpent releases a new development stage for the 1/10 scale gas onroad class, the 747. Shown at the Toy Fair a few months ago, it comes loaded with many improvements and new features and is much lighter too. Focus points for this development stage was to achieve a wider sweet spot, combined with lower weight and further improved performance, and keep a very strong car as before. Cav, Maifield & Neumann lift Cactus truck titles
All three truck titles at the 26th running of the Pro-Line Cactus Classic were sewn up in the second round of A-Mains after the winners of the opening A-Mains doubled up to secure the overall win. Starting from the TQ position Cavalieri claimed the first title of the event successfully defending his Mod Truck crown with ease winning ahead of Associated team-mate Ryan Maifield while Leg 1 runner-up Dustin Evans took third having briefly run in front of Maifield early in the 5-minute encounter. The penultimate round of qualifying in the 4WD classes saw Ryan Cavalieri TQ Buggy while Dakotah Phend set the pace in Short Course. Taking the TQ for the opening round, Cavalieri topped the timing for a second time when he used his Pro-Line shod B44.1 to outpace the Durango of Travis Amezcua by 5 seconds with the Kyosho of Jared Tebo taking third. The second round of qualifying for the 2WD truck classes at the Pro-Line Cactus Classic saw Associated set the pace with Cavalieri and Maifield topping Mod Truck and 2WD Short Course respectively. Having dominated the morning’s opening qualifier, Maifield was unable to repeat his morning 13-lap run, taking third for the round behind defending champion Cavalieri and TLR’s Dustin Evans both of whom knocked 4 seconds off their 12-lap Q1 runs.
